Great Ti Flipper

ROBERT S.

This knife really flies open and ends with a solid lock bar click. I really love the action on the knife. The fit and finish on the Ti handle are excellent. Closing the knife is also a dream. The lock bar is not overly stiff and the knife provides plenty of finger space to deactivate it. The lock bar locks up nice and tight and allows zero blade play in either direction. The knife read more handle, clip and blade spine are really nicely finished. The backs pacer and clip are really nicely anodized and add a nice look to the knife. The clip has great retention in the pocket and is great for inserting and removing from your pocket. I have two issues with the knife that prevent a 5 star rating; 1. The pivot screw star pattern is poorly deburred and sharp, that sharpness occurs right where you might grab the knife so it is noticeable when holding the knife. 2. The blade doesn't have a sharpening choil.

Great knife!

The fit and finish of this knife rivals my Chris Reeves. For the money you can't beat it. I do wish there was jimping on the back of the blade, but it is great overall.

Beautiful EDC

The only reason this knife is not getting 5 stars from me is the price. The materials are awesome. I am definitely a sucker for clean titanium and anodized colors but this is a gorgeous knife. The size is perfect for an EDC. I am more of a bigger knife guy (i carry a Sheepdog XL, Brous Blades Division and ZT 0920) but this is the perfect not to small but great EDC size. The heat read more treat could have been a little better and the inner part of my backspacer has a little spot where the machining was slightly messed up. i picked this up on sale for 149.99 and got a 25$ BHQ gift card and at that price, im all over this knife.

To be honest when I first took this knife out of the box and looked it over I began to question my decision. Don't get me wrong this is a nice knife. I enjoyed the shape and the feel in my hand. The first time I hit the flipper I wasn't very impressed but the knife was freezing from sitting in the mail and I hadn't lubricated or adjusted it. I looked at it with a thought of "we'll read more see". Now nearing a month later this is probably my favorite knife. It did need a bit of lubrication out of the box but after setting it just right this knife is a BEAST. It is elegant and comfortable, the knife is quality and slices well. I have nothing but rave reviews for what has become a new all time favorite.

Great Medium Knife

Overall it's a great knife very high quality, machining is spot on and even has steel races on either side of the bearings. Makes for a butter smooth opener. Attention to detail is not left out.
Not the best edge but for this price range I don't expect a polished edge. I like sharpening my knives anyways.
The packaging is something i didn't expect. you would think I was read more opening a Rolex!

Great little EDC

Got this as part of the father's day promo that came along with a mini domin + a boker subcom. Was an excellent value purchase, thank you BladeHQ!

The Gemini, is super smooth. Fit and finish is excellent, as is the action. The only thing i would add is the pivot lug backed out a bit after a lot finger flips, causing the centering off. Was an easy fix, by tightening.

The read more knife, show's off Kizer's skillz. Will be looking to get a sheepdog from them, based of the quality i've seen in my Gemni.

Exceptional quality

The Gemini with S35VN is one of the nicest production knives I've ever taken from its box. Even the packaging is nice with a magnetic box within a matchbox cover containing the knife in a nylon pouch with a microfiber cloth. The feel in hand is perfect, the action smooth and easy, and the beautifully finished titanium handle and blue hardware really set this knife apart. I collect read more US- and foreign-made production knives, and all US makers should take note of Kizer for quality and function done right. (This is my fourth Kizer, the Domin Mini is another favorite.) One nitpick - the action is so smooth that a more subtle flipper tab could be used.

Class and functionality

Beautiful flipper with incredibly smooth action. It looks great and feels great in the hand as well. The pocket clip might be favorite part, and just keeps looking cooler and cooler with wear and tear.

I took off a star only because the pivot screw kept backing out a bit but that was easily fixed with some lock tite. It also didn't come suuuuper sharp out of the box, but read more again easily fixable.

It's now my favorite, and most functional edc knife I own. I highly suggest picking one up if you're in the market for a Ti flipper.

Firstly, let it be known that I am very new to carrying knives. I’ve cooked all my life and have a great appreciation of fine knives in the kitchen, but have only just stumbled on to the draw of carrying a knife on my person. I wasn’t sure I’d take to this, so I played it safe and ordered a couple Kershaws – the Ferrite and the Ember. These got me hooked on the fidget factor read more that a flipper allows and I wanted to experience “true,” unassisted flipping. I don’t mind spending crazy money on stupid stuff, but I wasn’t quite ready to drop 3-4 hundred until I knew I’d enjoy it long-term, so the Gemini really fit the bill in that it’s approaching the quality of a good custom at about half the price (or even less.)

It wasn’t love at first flip, as it lacked the weight and spring I was used to in the Ferrite. But a few dozen flips later and I started to get it. Now I no longer need a phone or a television. I can just sit all day and flip this knife. It’s quite addictive. It’s SO smooth. It’s easy to flip with my pinky. The blade is too light to close itself with gravity alone, but a gentle shake gets it done. If you hold it (closed, tip up) and deploy it as softly and carefully as you can, it still fully deploys every time. (Not so if you are asking the blade to swing up.)

I read many reviews before buying and was concerned about the blade being centered – mine is dead center. I was concerned about the lock being hard to release – not a problem at all. One reviewer wrote that he had to spend some time cleaning it up. Indeed, mine had quite a bit of lube on it, but it wiped off reasonably easily

Personal preferences: I don’t think the blade finish goes with the scales or style of this knife that well. I’d rather see a satin finish or shiny finish. I’d rather have plain hardware than blue, but many like the blue. Since it’s blue, I would like it all to match. Between the clip, pivot, back-spacer, and screws, there are 4 different shades of blue.

All around great knife

Love this knife. Very smooth flipper, on par with a zt 0450, functional blade, superb fit and finish, just a great looking knife. the pocket clip broke off after 3 weeks (the screw actually broke) but knife was returned and exchanged. The pocket clip also seems to catch my pocket a lot more than my other edc knives and it doesn't come out of my pocket as smooth. Doesn't bother me read more much though.

Look and feel of a custom for 1/3 the price

This knife right here is simply superb. The action is smooth as can be running on ceramic ball bearings. The full titanium handles are sleek and great looking. All the edges have been rounded giving the knife an amazing feel in hand. The blue accents on the knife give it a tasteful look that will impress even the non knife people. Kizer is competing at a top level in the knife industry. read more I'm very impressed and will be excited for their designs in the future.

Easily one of my favorites

This a great EDC knife. The materials are great and it is very well made. It is the best flipping knife I have tried, though I haven't tried anything super high-end like a Shirogorov or Grimsmo. It is a great size for EDC and it carries well. The blade is about the perfect thickness for an EDC and the full flat grind makes it a great slicer. Can't recommend this enough. Even non-knife read more people remark on the cool factor and the quality.

A small wonder

This is my first, but not last, flipper, and I'm pleased beyond words. Beautiful finish, perfectly centered, buttery smooth action with minimal effort, and it closes just by gently wiggling it the last half of the way.

The blued pivot, set screws and clip stand out nicely against the matte titanium finish in an artful manner. Whoever did this has a great eye for contrast read more without going overboard. Nice and subtle. To say I'm happy is an understatement. Like the other reviewer says, don't hesitate on getting this.

Now onto my next knife.....

Sheer beauty

When I got this knife I was utterly amazed by how clean the design was. Pictures don't do it justice. If you're contemplating purchasing this knife, then I say stop thinking about it and just do it. The perfectly contoured handle blew me away. Such a sleek design. This knife is based off the custom designed "Ray Loconico's Jasmine." I've read online from several other reviews that read more it's actually better than the custom. You're essentially getting a custom for only 170.00 bucks! Great materials all around and the cool anodized blue screws add to it all. Like I said before, just get it.
