It keeps finding itself in my pocket!
I’ve had this guy for 2 weeks and feel that I’ve gotten to know it a bit better. Right out of the box it was stiff and didn’t seem ‘friendly’. It wasn’t bad by any means and Civivi knives come plenty sharp, so the edge was never a concern, just the blade was ‘reluctant’ to deploy easily. I thought I would just carry it for a bit and see, but I had another knife I… read more was servicing, and thought, “I’ll just give it a tweak and see what happens…” Well, what happened is this knife woke up and came ALIVE! No blade play, it just opens and closes effortlessly. I still catch myself reaching for a liner-lock to close it, but I’m learning. It was not difficult, at all, to put a push-cut edge on the 14C28 steel, and some quick passes on the strop bring the edge right back when needed. The fit, in my hand, seems almost custom, the texture on the scales is reassuring, even with wet hands. Would I get another one? Very likely! If Civivi offered it in S35? ABSOLUTELY!!!
Great Knife!
I rarely do reviews but I feel compelled on this knife! The action on this knife is amazing. Quick to open and quick to close. Very sharp out of the box. I’m new to knife collecting and have two knives over a $1000.00 each but I find myself reaching for this. It’s a great fidgeter as well.
Great action for a great price.
I just received one of these last week. It's like a cheaper Protech Malibu. Well made, and the action out of the box might even be better than I have on my Mailbu and Mordax (it's super close, but being close at less than half the price is awesome). I've been carrying it everyday and the ergos are sound, the action is every bit as fidgety as the aforementioned knives, performance…

is good so far (it's a cheaper steel and I wouldn't expect the same edge retention - in truth, most people probably wouldn't notice the difference unless they kept a journal with how often they had to sharpen the knife and what was cut). The blade coating looks great so far and while I don't know the makeup it does appear to likely be some kind of PVD at a glance. The slabs are G10 but the milling pattern made me think of knurled and CNCed aluminum or similar. Grippy and nice feeling.
It's fun, it's great for regular EDC and it's an incredible deal - if you love flippers, the button lock Elementum or the Malibu you will likely love this.
